Dream Big and Live Happy

Over the past few days I have been working to bring my spiritual life back to basics, trying to make everything spiritual as it was to Jesus. In my search I have formulated a basic way to live my life more spiritually. It's sort of a mantra, "Dream Big and Live Happy." With these two ideas I have been able bring my life back into perspective.
In Matthew 19:26 Jesus tells his disciples "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." To me this is like a like an open invitation to be more and do more than we could ever fathom. With a belief in God and an acceptance of Jesus as our personal Savior we are unstoppable. Matthew 17:20 tells us "If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." To me this is absolutly amazing that with such a small amount of faith we as humans can move mountains and, heal the sick. This is the base of the first part of my mantra, "Dream Big."
So I was thinking (scary) as long as people choose to complain about trivial things and not worry about the big picture we as a species can never be truely happy. The Bible tells us to give all our problems, fears and worries to God; instead we choose to complain and either keep it on ourselves or give it all to the people surround that suround us. Who does this help? We might feel a little bit better but the problem is still there, still unsolved, still on our hearts and minds. Not to mention that we have now pushed that problem into the laps of others, forcing them to add it to thier burden. Talking things out with other people often is a great way to cope with things. But I'm not talking about things that need to be talked about, the things that really matter to us. I'm talking about the trivial things; the things that really don't make a difference in the big picture. Spencer Johnson and Kenneth Blanchard wrote an amazing book called Who Moved My Cheese on this subject. The point of the book is that even when we encounter problems we can't just give up and stop, we have to move through the problems and keep going toward our enventual goal. I'm not trying to condem any one, this is something that we are all guilty of. I went to Dallas last weekend and I think I spent half the ride complaining about things that really shouldn't bother me. Untill we are able to simply give our problems fully to God we cannot lead a truely happy life. This is the basis for the second half of my new mantra "Live Happy."
I think that by living these things and doing our best to "Dream Big and Live Happy," we can better ourselves, the community around us, and the world as a whole. Thanks for listening

Dream Big and Live Happy,
Steve

When I read this, a few thoughts popped into my head...Steve told me to read this right after I complained about something trivial...then on a more serious note, as humans, as opposed to turtles, we tend to allow the smallest of things grate on our nerves. It is really hard to allow those things to pass by sometimes. That's when the serenity prayer comes in handy...God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know the difference.

Preach it brother!
